How thourghly unprecendented

i'd just like to note, for any of you who are still reading this, how very odd things are, I mean how often they change.
Truly, we live our lives in flux, and I wish that I was psychic. Then I could look into the future and see what was in store and I wouldn't be so damn surprised when totaly unexpected stuff happens to me and I end up too shocked to make a decent response. Which means we end up in a one step forward, 3 steps back situation. And I am seriously fed up of that.
Incidentally, I think I have made some spelling errors, yes I know, No I don't care.
Sorry chaps+chappesess, and toodle pip!!
(yes, Betjeman has warped my brain)

A bit of a moan

In a free at the moment, with AmyD and some other people...and I have to get this out of my system:
Someone, ok, two someones, who I shall refer to as P and B, are REALLY getting to me at the moment.
To give them their due, I hardly know B, but you know how it is....and it's reaching the point where I just want to go into the pub on friday, grab the microphone, and scream out what I think. Or failing that to write it on here. Which I won't do as I can't, reprecusions would be too great. Ohh, aren't we British today amy, stiff upper lip and all that....
To be frank, I think P knows that they're getting to me, and I think they are deliberately perpetuating it. OOHHH I am SOO livid/mad/pissed off/ready to drink several very heavily mixed vodkas.
In fact, I can't really blame B for anything, as it's just P getting to me via B. Oh well, I suppose I just need to calm down about it but as I can't avoid them to a certain degree, it's so hard.
Right, sorry about that, I feel a bit better and shall write later when I feel slightly less demented.
GRRRRRRRR!

The weekend

well, as I have recently been informed by some people that they read my live journal (although possibly not avidly), I feel compelled to record the events of the weekend, in my own, somewhat exhausted, style:
Friday night:
As mother had gone away to a Jools Holland concert, I invited a few of my nearest and dearest over for pizza+videos. People who came were Sarah, Rosie, Charlotte, Gwil, El, Dug, TomM., Chris, and Brigid. We ate in the garden (tr?s faux boho baby, tr?s faux boho), then came in because it got cold. Put music on, wine kicked in, we had a little dance, then decided to play Trivial Pursuit, girlsVboys.....decalred a draw, as both side's lifts arrived to 3 pieces of pie. Oh well. Next time.....(mwahahaha). Oh, and the only video we got around to watching was that epitomy of style and taste, "Wham!". It certinally is a seminal work on the disaffected, leather jacket wearing, sking youth of the 1980's. As for the hair...why George, why?
Saturday day, I cleared up, then met charlotte for a drink, we sat in the park and ate cherries. Got home a bit too late to be frank, and had a mad panic about clothing. Sexy shoes, or shoes I can wlak in? A sexy top, or an item of clothing bigger than a handkerchief? After the traumas, I amazingly got to the station in plenty of time.....Train Cancelled. So, in my frankly unsensible shoes (but silently thanking god I hadn't worn the fluffy kitten heels and flickly dress), I ran (somewhat inelegantly) to the bus stop.
And waited.
And waited.
And.....jumped on a 119 in a fashion more suited to a train in a 1940's film, nearly lost a shoe, and settled down........
Met Doug at the station, and got to London Bridge. Met El and Jen and Sarah and Brigid, proceeded to the London Eye. Half an hour stuck in a pod with no escape from Brigid, who had worn very impractical shoes. I was so proud of her, she even rivalled my worst ones! She was, after about half an hour, walking around London barefooted in her mothers best tights. Will we ever forget the look on her face as she walked over the hard yellow bit near the eye? Or the look of pleasure as her foot touched the scraggly grass verge? I think not. Tragic.
Anyway, got off eye, after looking at the very pretty things, and got food. Sat on a bench by the Thames drinking Lambrusco (after an embarressing incident with a passer by) and piniching Sarah+Brigids chicken+chips, and then.....
Next, a place near Foyles called Jazz after dark, where we sampled the cocktails, in jug form. Ohh yum. Here's the chart:
Sex On The Beach: Yum yum
Mango Collada: I could be persuaded to commit a minor felony for this.
Lime Margarita: Why Brigid and Elinor, why? We had to drink this through salt, and, lets be honest, if we wanted tequila lime and salt we'd have done slammers. But interesting, non the less.
Then, back to Charing Cross. Brigid had no shoes on, and kept on informing Sarah and myself
"I'm ver'ver'drunk, amy blakeway, and sarah meade. You're such good friends..put me to bed.".
I've held lots of people's hands down Charing Cross road before, but never an intoxicated Brigid, sporting nil footwear and a sliver evening dress, fetchingly teamed with my black polar neck jumper. No wonder we got such funny looks.....anyway, got to the station, got the traditional chips, and began to plot next weekend. I wonder what happened to El, Doug, and Jen, who were too cool to get the last train home, and we left in the cocktailplace.
Bloody good night. Bloody good cocktails. All it needed to be perfect was a slightly more attractive waiter........

I am the only single girl in the world

Seriously, it has to be true. They've all gone off with new men, and I am alone. Lonely as a cloud. Sob. Never fear though, I shall persever. There's 3 bottles of chardonnay chilling in the fridge at home. Give me a decade and a half and I WILL be Brgiet Jones, I'm quite sure of it now, there is no escaping my fate, I may as well give into it and just acept it.
The worst of it is is that none of these new blokes have nice single mates. Humph.
Well, on the bright side, exams are over and I had a bloody good time last night. Pimms. ahhh, summer is here. Which means, in short, lots of booze, floaty dresses and burnt skin. I can hardly wait. Except, oh yes,I remember now, I'll be all alone because everyone else is a couple. Well, never mind. At least I won't have to share thte Jacobs Creek.

Exams: argh
Revision: The invention of the devil
My take on the whole "A-s levels are bad" debate:
WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN TO ME SOONER????????
Well, I think that it's a valid point anyway. Only two more to go, less than a week 'till FREEDOM, which is fan-(bleeping)-tastic.
Someone once told me what the name for that was. They've told me a few times, so I shouldn't have frogotten but I have. Oh well. It was a while ago.

Tequila (well, it didn't make me happy)

Well, revision still sucks. Last night went for a Mexican with Amy, Bobby and Jezz. Loads of other people turned up quite radomly, and we went to the pub. Not before I tried a tequila slammer. Oh god, never again, my eyes were watering and I nearly threw up, for the first time in years. Actually, I've never thrown up from alcohol. Although I think I would prefer to throw up than do what I normally do, in other words get incredibly loud , loose my balance and start to be really embarressing. Well, never mind, at least I wasn't as bad as the last time I got drunk with that group of mates. However, I am considering going off booze till after the exams. I don't want to end up being escorted to the bus stop by mates and put onto a bus at ten o'clock again, never mind what I felt like when I got home. God, that was a freudian typo. Bloody good thing I noticed it........
Apologies for the fact these entries have gone downhill. I think the problem is that I have lost my initial enthuisiasum, and now write whenever I feel bored, as a sort of displacement activity.
OK, I'm going to go as I can feel the temptation to write stuff I don't want becoming general knoweldge growing strongly.........

Naturally, I should have written earlier. In breif, a good time was had by all, not least of which myself. I remember dancing a lot, and singing, and I can think of at least two PC's (Potential Couples) who were getting on VERY well INDEED. Oh the joys of being an incorigable gossip monger......I'm sure our dear mystery commentator will have words with that one....spelling is subjective dear......
Well, it was a few days ago, and I've spent most of those telling people who weren't there what happened. Perhaps I should have written, then refered them here.....
Otherwise, all news is Top Secret, and will remain so. I wish I could post it on the internet, but it really wouldn't be fair.
Have decided to revise for these exams, after all as all my friends are not coming out, I have lost my displacement activities, and may as well use the time wisely. Or I could just sleep.
So, as I'm quite sure that the french subjunctive is not a subject upon which I wish to further elucidate, (sp mystery speller!!) I shall depart.

As you will all be aware I haven't written for a long time, for various reasons. Those of you who know me will understand.
well, at the request of my very special public (Sonia and Amy), I have decided to write once again.
Tonight is the night before my 17th birthday, and I just want to take a quick moment to reflect on the year.....
1)Exams taken:lots
2)Alcohol consumed:lots
3)Men:ok, I can count these on both hands - just! however, I plead Relationships.Look, next year I will do better. I promise.
4)Number of nights I don't remember: Well, two. Both of which from what I have heard I do not want to remember.....and please, please, all of you DO NOT REFEER TO THEM AGAIN!!!!Thank-you.
5)New People Met: countless. But the people I know know, and care for most, outside my family, have all been met within the last year. All bar one.
6)calories comsumed:erm, well, er, maybe best if we move on....

GOALS FOR THE COMING YEAR
OK, in the immortal words of Abba
"Gimme Gimme Gimme a MAN after midnight"
please note, devoted public, a MAN not a pretend one of any description. Also, for god's sake, no strippers, I can catch my own. Really. I mean, I've done it before....
that's all for now. Having been out for a little drink, i shall retire.
PS:If you comment please identify yourself. I've been driven bananas recently..thanks!

I'm in a free

Now, here I am. Monday morning, French was cancelled, I no longer have French conversation classes, so I'll only have one lesson today - History: The First Crusade.
oh god save me now. Or at least launch another crusade for me to join so I can escape this one!Anyway, I'm in the Internet room with El, who says:
as she's trying to be funny. Thanks for those words of wisdom, oh visitor to the "myoffers" site.
Anyway, I have to have a bit of a moan, about debt consolodation.
Yes, debt consolodation. I am constantly getting emails off idiots who want me to consolodate my debts, which is ridiculous as I do not have any debts, and furthermore, I do not wish to consoloddate them, which soulds time consuming+expensive. S0, if you are the one who's sending me this shite PLEASE STOP!!!
Can you imagine how terrible it is to open the inbox, see the sign "10 new", scroll down, breathless with anticipation, only to discover that, sadly, they are all about debt from machines???My god, it's enough to make a girl start therapy!
On a more serious note, which I excuse you all from reading, I have something buging me. A good freind told me about her weekend today, and in the course of doing this, mentioned someone who I don't really want to be reminded of. Ever since I've felt vaugely dull, and down, and I know why. I don't want to say why to people, as to be quite frank it's not fair, but if I write it then it should purge it, especially if I know people will read it. I feel like this because what she told me showed I don't matter any more, and that has happened so often that I am now so familiar with the feeling I don't even become aware of it anymore. Sorry, I'll probably get home and delete this as soon as I can after the 6pm free-internet deadline. But I needed to say it. It says something about the society we live in though, that by resorting to strangers, either in the forms of shrinks or the internet people become absolved. It's a progression I suppose, now we seek absolution (which is what it is, in essence) from other people, not a God, but it's pathetic we can't come up with the courage to tell the people who matter about it. We still resort to someone who we can walk away from and hide from. That's why the confessionals were screened, and thats why Freud had people lying on the couch - so the psychiatrist was hidden.
Right, I'm going to stop there. My half baked psuedo-philosophical ramblings shouldn't be here, in the public eye. Hmm ,having re-read, that last lot probably wouldn't be out of place in a shrink's case study. Oh dear. It's the influence of the Crusade, I promise!!

Eurovision!

Lunch with Ros: good. Not conductive to work afterwards, pizza express house white too cheap for that, but a laugh.
Then, the eurovision party. The door was opened by Brigid, in a pink merenguie type dress, who was being Katie Boyle "Eurovision presenter of yesteryear".
El had a great costume too, one which only she could have pulled off. Gemma+Sonia+Rosie+Alex looked lovely in a far more stylish way.
I chose to be estonia, and WE WON!!!
however, I have to write about Latvia, and Lithuania.
"Baby give me one more try!"
"OK!"
Classic. Why doesn't napster have these things? Why? and why oh why did they not win eurovsion?? They won in our poll, at any rate.If that could help to console them......
sonia cooked lovely food too. Yum Yum.
So, a good time was had by all. These entries are getting breifer aren't they?
Saw dad today, had a great lunch, and now shall hop off to see what the rest of you livejournal adicts have been up to!

Poetry

OK, I said I'd do this ages ago. It's a great displacement activity, non?

SOME MORE LIGHT VERSE
(By Wendy Cope)
You have to try. You see a shrink.
You learn a lot. You read. You think.
You struggle to improve your looks.
You meet some men. You write some books.
You eat good food. You give up junk.
You do not smoke. You don't get drunk.
You take up yoga, walk and swim.
And nothing works. The outlook's grim.
You don't know what to do. You cry.
You're running out of things to try.

You blow your nose. You see the shrink.
You walk. You give up food and drink.
You fall in love. You make a plan.
You struggle to improve your man.
And nothing works. The outlook's grim.
You go to yoga, cry, and swim.
You eat and drink. You give up looks.
You struggle to improve your books.
You cannot see the point. You sigh.
You do not smoke. You have to try.

So sad, and very true. I really can't be bothered to type the rest of them up. Oh well. maybe tommorow. Or when I realise i need to revise.....

Well, this is the COMPLEX page, is it........

After comments from last time am somewhat heartedned, but after last night, somewhat subdued.
La Pasta, my take:
(come on, after all I've heard about last week I HAD to try it..)
Waiters: nasty pieces, given to making house white come far too late.
Food: good, ish, but in god's name since when did "a selection of traditional Itallian startes"NOT include salami, and did include prawn cocktail????I ask you, really now........
House White:good, not toodry, probably overpriced.
Company: El, Gemma, Brigid, Sarah Meade, Dug, Tom M., and a chap called Mark who I haven't previously met but seems perfectly nice.
have just realisd overtype is on, sorry 4 that...
and the ensuing mistakes.
Hmph.
I feel all pensive again now, and wish that I could snap out of it. Am meeting Ros for a pub lunch at about 1.30, as a reward for "3 hours solid revision". Unlikely, I think. Still, I can try. Maybe a more realistic target of 3minutes to start with....
At the moment, It's bascially exam fever. Well, that's a lie, it's pleasantly sunny, but I thik that it's quite likely if I talk about the damn things I'll be able to get myself psyched up.
Right, no more to say, but at least I'm making the effort..........
Oh, just for the record, I'm impressed by the list of moods! I shall use this feature more often and see how long it takesto use them all!

Men+organaising stuff

Why oh why oh why can you never get things organised? Take tommorow, for example: supposed to be a lovely relaxing night, with a meal in the mexican followed by whatever.
But no, if I want to know, for example, who is coming I can't delegate. Sorry about this, but I am REALLY annoyed. why can't they get one thing right?
Otherwise, am rapidly going off livejournal, unless people come+read my stuff+make comments i shall desist I tell you. And you'd all be unhappy then, wouldn't you?
Hmmph. Have been feeling odd for the past few days, in a sort of not quite with it fairly detached way. I'm perfectly aware of why this is but it won't go on the net anytime soon. The person who it concerns is perfectly computer literate and furthermore perfectly capable of working out who they are. So, sorry. No secrets today.
frankly,I can't be bothered to write any more. I'm going to go and read other people's. In the hope they will then remember i have a journal+respond.
Bored, bored bored.
Just out of curiosity, can anyone remember when I became this sad?
I really would like to know.
Genuinely.
As a matter of fairly high importance to my shrink.......................

Picnic

I went for a picnic today and it was very nice.

Well, it was cold, and the sun kept on going in, but other than that it was lovely! Gemma+Rosie went, as did Sarah Meade+Joanna+Sonia. Also the infamous "Trinity Boys"...just in case you're reading this Tom Pascal I thought I'd better mention the soon to be a smash "Dildo song". Yes, Tom and Gwil have written a song, a mixture of funk, jazz, jungle and....oh i forget, but it's, well, innovative.
We all admired the view, and laughed and joked and conversed about things...oh, I think Rosie may wish to alter her biography so check the comments from whenever I introduced her!
Oh, and we had strawberries and cream, and wine, so a few people feel a little ill.Oh dear.
Anyway, it was all very healthy and in keeping with the romantic ideal of outdoor living+freindship+so forth.I'm quite sure this is categorised as Good For You. Hmm. New experience, that one!
Talked to Tom M. a lot about people from Primary School, which was suprisingly amusing. We seem to remember utterly different people, but it was still interesting.
Now I have to revise for a timed essay. Help.
Well, hasta manana, and all that!
Oh, Stuart (racingstu) says he has an art exam tommorow+is scared.
Good luck, you'll be gorgeous!
XX

Sorry it's been so long!

I last wrote prior to the French Oral. Now for the next exciting episode:
It was ok. The role play about a coal mine threw mw somewhat, but at least I now know the french for "colliery". La mine de Charbon, if any of you care........Oh, I also said "il-y-a" too much. Well, at least I included a subjunctive! Now I just need to learn to spell the damn things for the writing exam.
Went to various lessons throughout the day of and immediately after the oral, nothing life threatening. Not that I remember anyway. Not other than death by boredom.
Friday night, out to the pub with Rosie,(in case I haven't introduced her, a stickthintoodamnprettyforherowngood debating pal. She has a wild fantasy about one of the England team, and is very glamourous. Right, that's enough in the way of flattery for now), and saw lots of people I haven't seen in ages, including someone who I don't really care for.....I maintained my dignity, however. For once. Perhaps I should make a habit of it.
Saturday, well, I slept a great deal, then went to a birthday party. Felt very out of place, but the band were okish (looks wise of course, I couldn't possibly comment on the music). Shoes were absolute triumph, I couldn't actually walk, but the loss of my legs was a small price to pay for shoes like that! Feet still aching.....well, no pain no gain!
Today, Greenwich with Charlotte(have I introduced her.....I think so). THE NOODLE BAR HAS CLOSED!! We coped with this catastrophe admirably, however, and found a new place to eat. Wandered round the shops+market, then looked at the cutty sark. It hasn't changed.
No other news, I suppose, as to be frank I haven't had a good scandal in months. Alex has told me I'm becoming Briget Jones again, which concerns me. After all, if my close freinds perceive me as a chardonnay-swigging, permanently single, oft-pissed journalist, I have little hope for the rest of the world. Although, if this also means I get Colin Firth AND Hugh Grant, then this has potential!
Now, I had better go and read Amy's, as she's hastling me about it on MSN.
Shall try to remember to find some Wendy Cope for next time, but no promises!

French Oral Tommorow

Well, economics today. What can I say, Nicola,+I (nicola is my economics buddy), got extreemly excited by unemployment, squealing and squriming in delight as we learnt of the market, and Government intervention. Who needs sex when you have supply and demand? Although we didn't have the pleasure of a new piece of paper....maybe tommorow!
School basically ok, actually did PE as opposed to skiving(to everyone's amusement), and the PE staff all know me. How? I haven't been to more than 3 lessons all year...........
Have remembered how appaling I am at tennis. Also, is it normal to pant after walking out to the courts? I'm sure it can't be that unusual...
Oh, the only major news is that I am in a state of blind panic about the oral. I have never ever ever ever ever been this distressed, and am going to work solidly. Oh yes. This is the truth.
On a more serious note, I genuinely believe that if I drink enough french wine between now+2.30 tommorow I will become fluent. Any takers to join me?
Moi, j'aime le vin.Tout les sortes de vin - le vin blanc, le vin rouge, et le vin de fraises qui on peut achceter ? safeways. Mais, je deteste le vin sans alcool. C'est un faux ami.
Right, that's quite enough revision for now.
So, that was my day......oh, except for the possibility of a New Man who is Intelligent and can Actually Talk.
Shall reveal all as the story goes on.....tune in for the next exciting episode!!
Ciao Bellas!

School. Free period, most of which sent reading other people's journals so I could get ideas.
Main themes seem to be:
1)work
2)love lives/partners
3)dreams
Now, one is out as I don't work, two is out as I'm single, and three......well, I don't really think that would be tasteful. Or fair to those involved. Well, I mean, how would I ever face them again?
Anyway, I've also found out that people go into a hell of a lot of detail......some of it most unecessary, but it's their lives......and I have decided I shall post only the edited highlights.
Well, as I have nothing else to add, I shall introduce more people (picked at random)and leave:
Charlotte:good friend from school before this, and addicted to Blur. Also likes Dandy Warhols, and has been trying to learn guitar for years.
Alex+Nick:actually two people. Yes, A Happy Couple. Both lovely, but read Nick's live journal to get an idea of what they're like.
Sarah Meade: Lovely,if somewhat too excited by the prospect of a forthcoming sky-dive to be quite sane.
Bobby:known for years, gossip mongerextraordinaire...drinks a lot and states "hypering" as an interest.
hope for all our sakes tommorow is more exciting. Hmm, at least I haven't got as bad as Briget Jones yet though........or is that such a bad thing?

Monday, Monday

well, i hate mondays a lot. Today was boring, and i'm only writing as I really should get into the habit.
FRENCH ORAL IN 3 DAYS!
I am bound to fail, which is a bugger, but hell, i suppose if i make french sounding noises I'll be ok. (Mental note:next year, do not chose Joan of Arc as the topic. Go for something which interests me.At least it's better than "the french education system" though. Hehe)
Hmm, school.Well, french was not good, free (every monday periods 2+3 spent talking to El), as ever......topics under discussion included men, men, and erm, the first crusade........
History, well, said first crusade......dull. French conversation, bad, forgot the word for children which is ridiculous.
Home earlyish, slept till 7, then woke up.
So a really mudane day.
I feel quite guilty not having more of a life.
Maybe I should only write when something happens.
Maybe I should disclose a secret to keep people's interests......
Or not, as the case may be.
Oh, if you get that quiz off me, about me, DO IT. The responses so far are FASCINATING.........
maybe i should put them on this instead.
Right, I'm going to stop wasting space.

Hello, and welcome to the madhouse

Right, I feel I ought to offer an explanation for why i am doing this pathetic thing ie: allowing total strangers (worse still, people who know me) to read what I say.
Well, basically I'm bored and this looks like a damn good displacement activity!
So, the list of main characters for this, my very own live journal:
Amy D.:friend, the one who introduced me to this site......
El:friend, v.v.cool+possibly psychic
Gemma:friend, but WAY too thin
Ros:I get the bus to school with her and she knows a disturbing ammount about me.....
Sarah M.:just about the only sane one do far..
Naomi:have known since primary school, good drinking buddy.
Right, the rest of them will be explained as and when they arrive in this journal.
Locations:
the Firkin:where I drink
school:Newstead Wood, Orpington. I try to avoid.
Dad's:this is in Wimbledon.
and thats all I can think of.
Oh god I feel PATHETIC!.....oh well. If this prevents me from turing into Briget Jones then it will not all be in vain.
Right, as I really can't think of anything relevant, as of yet, I shall go.
You don't want to hear about last night, do you?
Good, because nothing happened.
Bye.....
